Supporting great causes here on Earth

For Rocket Lab, opening up access to space is one way we can improve life on Earth. Directly supporting community programs and organizations to deliver positive social, educational, and environment impacts on the ground is the other. 

Through our Rocket Lab Community Grants we fund and support causes that align with our values; encourage education and careers in science, technology, engineering, and maths (STEM); and contribute to thriving communities where we live and launch.

$20M+ Injected into local economies through direct & indirect employment, support of local suppliers, and infrastructure developments in communities that support Launch Complex 1 in Mahia and Launch Complex 2 in Virginia.
100+ Volunteer hours in community initiatives including public events, environment protection programs, and education outreach.
$18k+ In annual community grants and sponsorships across community groups, schools, and environmental programs.
$80k+ Committed to students with Rocket Lab Scholarships for tertiary education in STEM.

Apply for a Rocket Lab Community Grant

We are proud to support and be part of our local communities through our Rocket Lab Community Grants.

To be considered for a Rocket Lab Community Grant, your request for your activity should meet at least one of the following requirements:

  • Benefit Mahia, Wairoa, and/or the wider Tairāwhiti (Gisborne) and Te Matau-a-Māui (Hawke’s Bay) region.

  • Benefit Long Beach and Los Angeles County regions.

  • Benefit Wallops Island and surrounding regions.

  • Benefit the Toronto region, Canada.

  • Focus on or encourage STEM education and careers.

  • Create positive social or environmental impact.

Applications may be considered for full or partial funding

Deadlines

First half of the year applications (received January 1 – May 20) will be reviewed and considered for funding no later than June 1.

Second half of the year applications (received June 1 – November 20) will be reviewed and considered for funding no later than December 1.
