Systems Engineer (Autonomous Aerospace Systems)
Rocket Lab is seeking enthusiastic systems engineers to work on launch and space-based vehicles. As the systems engineer, you will be engaged in all phases of vehicle design, from concept through launch/operations. The breadth of this role spans detailed analysis and testing to the management of requirements and verification methodology.

Position Duties & Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain technical budgets for vehicle performance.
  • Develop and manage system requirements and verification techniques.
  • Develop simulations and perform analysis across vehicle functions.
  • Develop test methods and participate in testing and data analysis.
  • Assist with program management and product management.
  • Develop, in collaboration with team members, interface specifications, CONOPS definition, and other design documents.
Required Skills
  • Requirements and associated management tools (JAMA, DOORS, etc.) experience.
  • Demonstrated success working in a dynamic environment with multiple priorities.
  • Proficient in Matlab/Python or similar.
  • Proficient with STK.
Required Education & Experience
  • Four-year degree in aerospace, electrical, or mechanical engineering, or equivalent years of experience.
  • 2-6 years of experience in a systems engineering role or in a specific subsystem design role for an autonomous vehicle (aerospace vehicles, preferred).
Preferred Skills & Experience
  • Demonstrated engineering contributions to launch vehicle or satellite systems.
  • Experience with functional testing of hardware.
  • Experience with environmental testing.
  • Experience in developing simulations of launch or space vehicles.
  • Experience in a fast-paced development environment.
  • Autonomous Aerospace Systems experience.
