About The Role


About the Role:
The Electron Launch Vehicle is a fly-by-wire system and generates a large quantity of real-time data throughout its production, testing, and launch life-cycle. This data tells a story and let’s Rocket Lab engineers and key stakeholders know how we are performing and provides evidence for continuous improvement. The Operational Data software team ensures that this valuable information is robustly captured and made available to those who need it most.

Key Responsibilities include: 
  • Acquisition, ingestion and storage of Real-Time Data
  • Collation, curation and classification of operational data
  • Archival and maintenance of data warehouses
  • Retrieval and display of operational data
  • Analytics, machine-learning and business intelligence
  • Development of software and unit tests according to bug-fixes and feature requests
  • Development of documentation for operation of software products
  • Participation in review of source code merge requests
  • Approval of merge requests for Software Assurance Levels C and below
  • Approval of code review standards
  • Refinement product backlog items
  • Facilitation of scrum activities (e.g. stand-up, retrospectives, sprint planning)
  • Management of scrum activity information (e.g. velocity, retro minutes)
Skills and Experience Needed:
  • Minimum of two years’ experience
  • Git
  • Experience with one of: Redmine, Jira, Bugzilla, Mantis, or other issue tracker
  • C# Development
  • Windows Application Development
  • Networked Application Development
  • Database Application Development
Desirable
  • Scrum
  • .NET Linux Application Development
  • C++
  • User Interface Development
  • Big Data System Development
  • Tertiary Diploma, Certificate or degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or similar.
