About The Role


This is a fantastic opening for a manufacturing engineer to work within Rocket Lab’s Propulsion Team.  This role will be focussed on improving build times and improving quality of the Rutherford rocket engine production. You will work with the design, assembly, and test engineers and technicians to ensure all practical improvements to parts or assemblies are captured and implemented.
 
Manufacturing parts and assemblies to the specification, quality and schedule is key in the aerospace business. We are looking for thinkers and doers to work in a very dynamic, fast pace environment, you will be challenged on a daily basis and to succeed you will need to be able to learn quickly and utilize your own initiative whilst working under pressure and to tight deadlines.
 
Minimum Requirements for the Propulsion Manufacturing Engineer
  • 4+ industry experience is required in engineering
  • Proactive, enthusiastic, self-motivated and open to learning
  • The ability to read, interpret and create engineering drawings
  • Equally comfortable in the workshop and at a desk while
  • Excellent skills across all manufacturing disciplines including additive manufacturing
  • Excellent MS Office skills and communication
  • Confident working under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Have a can do attitude with the ability to organize a challenging schedule
You must have the ability to work in New Zealand for an initial training period, this could be up to 1 months. Also, you will need to have the ability to make trips to the New Zealand facility for training and helping out as necessary. The role will otherwise be based in Huntington Beach, Los Angeles.
