About the role
Part of the NZ Finance management team, the NZ Accounting and Reporting Manager is responsible for managing and providing high quality and timely financial accounting, statutory reporting and taxation deliverables for NZ entities, delivering US reporting to Rocket Lab US, and ensuring the integrity and accuracy of the general ledger and all other financial records, whilst
championing continuous improvement in processes and systems required for a world-class accounting function in a global company.
  
Essential skills
  • CA, CPA or member of equivalent professional accounting body
  • Proven experience in leading a team responsible for month end close in a multinational and multi-currency environment
  • Demonstrated ability in solving complex accounting issues and writing technical accounting memos
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong systems knowledge and experience in tier 1 ERP system
  • Proven experience in delivering statutory financial statements under NZ IFRS
  • Hands-on experience in all areas of NZ taxation including tax accounting
  • Strong financial and systems control background with a continuous improvement mindset
  • Advanced Word, Excel and analytical skills
  
Desirable skills
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience in financial reporting to a US parent, including quarterly SEC reporting and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance
