About the role
The primary purpose of the Manufacturing Engineer II (New Part Introduction) is to facilitate and optimize the strategic and tactical introduction of electro-mechanical assemblies into the Rocket Lab production environment. Seamless integration of new parts into production is the mandate of this role. You will be the subject matter expert of manufacturing best practice. Using your expertise, you will guide design and production teams through the NPI process. You will be responsible for delivering NPI projects "Right first time”, as well as leading strategic cost reduction projects across a variety of manufacturing disciplines. A strong lean manufacturing background is preferred.

Essential skills
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or related
  • 5+ years’ experience as a Manufacturing / Production / Process Engineer ideally for electromechanical systems
  • New Product introduction (NPI)
  • Hands-on technical experience debugging complex systems within a Manufacturing environment
  • Strong communicator, with proven ability to deliver KPI’s with little to no supervision on schedule as an individual or as a member of an integrated team
  • Can-do approach and flexibility to thrive around growing teams and processes
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
