About The Role

As a High Voltage Battery Technician at Rocket Lab you will be tasked with assembling all the batteries that power the Electron Launch Vehicle.  This work will require previous assembly experience and extreme attention to detail to attain the high level of reliability required for aerospace components.

To succeed in this role, you will need to be able to
  • Manufacture and test high voltage battery components for space flight without supervision
  • Correctly use hand tools including screwdrivers, spanners, torque wrenches, wire strippers and soldering iron
  • The ability to read, understand and follow manufacturing instructions and drawings
  • Capable of understanding and following all health and safety procedures
  • Able to correctly use test equipment including multi-meter, milliohm meter, vacuum chamber, thermal chamber and battery load tester
  • Capable of ensuring product quality and conformance to specifications
  • Act as a mentor to junior technicians
Required skills & experience
  • 4 years electrical assembly and/or testing experience
  • The ability to learn quickly and work productively without supervision
  • The ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build excellent working relationships
  • The ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as semi-autonomously
  • Experience working with electrical components in an ESD environment
  • The ability to take initiative and think outside the box
