Founded in June 2006 as a center for advanced space systems, Rocket Lab’s goal is to remove the commercial barriers to space by providing frequent launch opportunities to low orbit Earth.
Rocket Lab is rapidly expanding to meet the global demand for our commercial launch service. The Huntington Beach, CA facility is seeking passionate, highly-skilled individuals who are comfortable working in a dynamic, evolving environment where they will be given ownership of processes from start-to-finish. - Completes a broad variety of administrative tasks for the Senior Leadership team including: managing an extremely active calendar of appointments; completing expense reports; composing and preparing correspondence that is sometimes confidential; arranging complex and detailed travel plans, itineraries, and agendas; and compiling documents for travel-related meetings
- Researches, prioritizes, and follows up on incoming issues and concerns, including those of a sensitive or confidential nature. Determines appropriate course of action, referral, or response.
- Provides a bridge for smooth communication -demonstrating leadership to maintain credibility, trust and support within the organization
- Works closely and effectively with the senior leadership team to keep them well informed of upcoming commitments and responsibilities, following up appropriately.
- Provides leadership to build relationships crucial to the success of the organization, and manages a variety of special projects, some of which may have organizational impact
- Successfully completes critical aspects of deliverables with a hands-on approach, including drafting acknowledgement letters, personal correspondence, and other tasks
- Prioritizes conflicting needs; handles matters expeditiously, proactively, and follows-through on projects to successful completion, often with deadline pressures
- A minimum of 8 – 10 years administrative experience with a high-level executive - including interaction with international personnel and consultants, project coordination and management
- A Bachelor’s degree or similar is preferred
- Must possess excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with stakeholders, including staff, and, external partners
- Must be able to exhibit judgment and tact when dealing with diverse situations and hold a strong track record of establishing and maintaining effective working relationships, both internally and externally. The individual must demonstrate his/her ability to work independently and as a team player
- Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion is crucial along with prioritizing multiple tasks, time management, flexibility, reliability, strong organizational skills and professionalism. Be adaptable to various competing demands, and demonstrate the highest level of customer/client service and response
- Technical skills required include advanced word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, and scheduling software and advanced Internet research skills
- Strong organizational skills that reflect ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly with excellent attention to detail
- Expert level written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated proactive approaches to problem-solving with strong decision-making capability
