About the role
Working at Rocket Lab's brand new Propulsion Test Complex in Kopuku as a Electrical Maintenance Technician, you’ll be part of the team that develops the Rutherford engine – the first 3D printed, electric pump-fed rocket engine to be launched to space. You will carry out essential Build & Maintenance work at the facility to ensure that the Propulsion Testing Infrastructure is functional and easily configurable for Test-firing various rocket thruster engines.
  
You will be hands-on daily, working with the tools and equipment below to build our vehicle test components and perform diagnostics and fault finding for test infrastructure maintenance. New projects are a weekly occurrence and our ideal candidate will be a quick-thinking problem-solver who may have worked in a variety of industries. This is a rare opportunity to contribute to a development program for space-faring missions, and to be a part of the Rocket Lab story.
  
Essential skills
  • Trade Qualifications in Electrical Instrumentation & Control
  • 5 years minimum experience in industry environments
  • Strong knowledge of sensor wiring, valves and piping, heat exchanges
  • Experience with PLC controllers and thermocouples
  • Knowledge of resistance temperature devices [from -180°C to 850°C]
