About The Role

This is a newly created position to meet the growth within Rocket Lab’s Propulsion Test Facilities. 

As Rocket Lab’s Test Facility Manager, you will be responsible for all the propulsion test facilities within the organisation, this includes:
  • The Auckland Test Cell for the Rutherford and Curie testing
  • The Stack Test Site for the stage stack testing (1hr drive from Auckland)
These test sites are critical to the propulsion operations within the company. On a daily basis rocket engines, subcomponents and full Electron stages are put through their tests by a highly skilled team. The facilities and the facility team need to ensure efficient and reliable operation of the test facility so that the Rocket components can be put through their paces before launch to space.

Minimum Requirements
  • 5+ years plant/facility management experience
  • Plant/facility project implementation (new equipment, maintenance etc)
  • Proven leadership with the ability to lead a team, contractors and suppliers
  • Experienced with progress reporting and achieving schedules
  • Excellent problem solving skills, initiative and attention to detail
  • An excellent understanding of New Zealand Health & Safety regulations and quality practises
Desired Skills
  • Production environment experience (manufacturing, testing etc)
  • Knowledge of process plumbing, steel fabrication and electrical components
  • Knowledge of instrumentation and LabView
  • Knowledge of CAD
  • Managed a team of 5+ direct reports
  • Rocket Engine test experience
