About The Role

A new position has opened for an integral role within Rocket Lab. We need someone who is a solid ‘all-rounder’. You will have solid knowledge and experience with both Windows and Linux operating systems together with strong networking knowledge.

We are seeking someone who seeks to maintain standards and structure - yet is still flexible and proactive in approach. You must be willing to contribute to an open, trusting and positive team environment. You will need the ability to work to tight deadlines, and maintain composure under pressure in a busy, yet exciting workplace.

Key duties include

  • Deployment and management of network hardware. switches, routers, wireless
  • Deployment and management of virtualized hardware and servers
  • Procurement of equipment and related software/licensing
  • Debug, assist and resolve issues as they arise
  • Design and implementation of new systems and services
  • Ability to assist and work remotely to resolve issues
  • Provide live support during launch and test operations
Minimum requirements
  • 5+ years’ experience and excellent familiarity of both Windows and Linux server environments. (Ubuntu/Debian)
  • Experience hosting a range of web based applications
  • Experience managing, migrating and maintaining SQL databases
  • Understanding of public-key cryptography and implementations
  • Experience with IPSEC and SSL based VPN
  • Excellent knowledge of Active Directory and Group Policy. Wintel experience
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to produce well written documentation
  • The ability to travel to remote sites
  • Willing to work after hours when required (flexible hours)
  • Proven project management skills.
