About The Role

Reporting to the Communications Manager, Rocket Lab’s Internal Communications Advisor will be an energetic and experienced internal comms all-rounder with a knack for writing and a flair for the creative. You’ll thrive on the planning and execution of comprehensive internal communications strategies that bring team engagement initiatives to life.  You will support the development and implementation of change projects, internal communications channel development and information management.  

Key responsibilities: 
  • Work with the communications manager and people and culture team to develop and implement a proactive programme of internal communications, including business updates and team communications
  • Development of strategies and content for communicating frequent and significant updates to a geographically spread team
  • Manage content development and copywriting for Rocket Lab’s internal-facing news publication
  • Assist and coach team leaders with localised internal communications initiatives
  • Copywriting of key internal communications
  • Development of written and multimedia content for global intranet
  • Plan and organise company events
  • Some domestic and international travel may be required 
What we are looking for:
  • Tertiary qualification in communications, journalism or related field
  • 5+ years’ experience in internal communications
  • Proficiency in the planning and production of high quality and engaging multi-media content (videos, photography, graphics)
  • Exceptional copywriting, editing and proofreading skills
  • Strong project management skills
  • Experience juggling multiple stakeholders across different areas of a business
  • Strong relationship building and influencing skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and G Suite
  • Ability to deliver high quality work under tight deadlines
  • Ability to distil complex concepts into clear messages for both technical and non-technical readers.
  • A resilient, confident, proactive, and collaborative team member
  • A keen interest in the space industry, with a hunger to learn more 
Bonus points for:
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud Suite
  • Experience managing corporate social media accounts, including LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram
  • Video editing experience, specifically in Premier Pro
  • Experience working in US markets
  • Experience leading the development and implementation of a company intranet
